Monteverde MP1 Piston Filling Fountain Pen Coal Grey
Monteverde's first piston-filling fountain pen is the MP1. The grip and translucent barrel are made from polycarbonate resin, and have been crafted as one piece to ensure uniformity and reliability, as well as offering a perfect balance.
The cap and blind cap are constructed from anodised aluminium finished in a dark Coal Grey, with gunmetal accents to accentuate the industrial 'look'. The cap is crowned with the Monteverde 'mountain' logo, and both are etched with narrow horizontal grooves to aid grip as well as add to the overall aesthetic.
The blind cap includes the feature that makes the MP1 stand out from other piston-filling fountain pens. This is a mechanism which locks the piston in place once ink has been sucked up from the bottle, thereby reducing the risk of accidental twisting of the blind cap which could lead to ink spillage.
To fill your MP1: pull up the blind cap to unlock the mechanism and twist it anti-clockwise to extend the piston. Then twist it clockwise to draw ink into the pen - it will hold a generous 2ml. Once full, align the two dots on the blind cap and barrel end and push down to snap firmly into place.
It's fitted with a black stainless steel #6 German JoWo nib which features a plasma-treated feed system to ensure a reliable, skip-free ink flow, and is available in an extensive range of sizes.
Dimensions: 144mm (capped); 135mm (uncapped); 176mm (posted). 12.5mm diameter, weighs 25g.
Supplied in a gift box. Designed for use with bottled fountain pen ink only.
