Parker Duofold Arnold Palmer Signature Edition Collection Fountain Pen

Duofold is one of the classic names in fountain pens, dating back to the 1920s when it was one of the most reliable and respected of writing instruments. Fashions change, and it was replaced by more curvy designs as the years went by. But fashions return, too, and fortunately, the Duofold also made a comeback as one of Parker's flagship pens.

Another classic born in the 1920s was the charismatic Arnold Palmer, one of America's greatest golfers and a record-setting aviator, and Parker is celebrating his illustrious career with the Arnold Palmer Signature collection.

Palmer was noted not only for his sports prowess, but for his philanthropy and accessibility, and prided himself on always executing a legible signature when signing autographs for fans. 'What's the point of signing something,' he once said, 'if the person can't read it or later can't even remember who it was?' The defining feature of this Duofold therefore is Palmer's signature - bold in gold - on the deep red lacquered barrel.

The polished stainless steel cap is trimmed in 23 carat gold with Palmer's umbrella logo on the cap end, and laser-etched with an Argyll pattern. The rhodium-plated 18 carat gold bicolour nib is stamped with the same pattern, along with Palmer's signature, and the pen's limited edition number is engraved on the barrel end.
