Pilot Custom 742 Fountain Pen Black

Pilot Custom 742 is a member of the classic Pilot Custom range of fine writing instruments, so-called because of its combination of traditional styling and high technology. The barrel is glossy black precious resin, with polished gold-plated trim and pocket clip. 

Fitted with a medium #10 engraved 14-carat gold nib available in three sizes: fine, medium or broad. Other nib sizes are available by special order. Refill using Pilot ink cartridges, or fit the supplied converter to use bottled ink.

Speaking of 'other nib sizes', there's an amazing range available with these pens, with choices you'll rarely find anywhere else. Like the Posting nib, an extra stiff nib with a slight downward bend, originally popular for writing with carbon paper; or the Waverly nib with an upturned tip for extra smoothness at different angles.
