The Well-Appointed Desk Col-o-ring Oversize Ink Testing Book
When Ana at The Well-Appointed Desk ran out of her favourite ink testing pads, there was nothing else quite good enough to replace them. So she set about designing and making her own. With the help of Skylab Letterpress, where, rather conveniently, her husband worked, she began tracking down the perfect paper, and finding the best design for ink geeks everywhere.
She succeeded with the Col-o-Ring. And like all good ideas, it bore fruit. The result is a bigger (and some would say better) version.
This one is A6 size, almost 250% bigger than the original. It's sturdily wire-bound and contains 40 sheets of 160gsm European paper. The paper is bright natural white and acid-free, with a nice texture - a little toothy, but not enough to catch nibs. It's been thoroughly tested to ensure that inks won't feather, bleed or show through. And it's finished with sturdy card covers with the Col-o-ring logo.
