Tom's Studio The Wren Refillable Writing Pen Brass

Tom's Studio is a little bit different to most pen makers. The first pen designed by Tom was inspired by his wife, Gemma, an avid calligrapher who used plastic mass-produced calligraphy pens which didn't reflect the quality of her work. He decided to take matters into his own hands. Combining his experience as a product designer and his background in furniture along with his experience working in a blacksmith's forge, he was able to manufacture a new pen for her. Tom's ideas for the stationery world took off from there; he founded Tom's Studio and has been using his creativity to create high quality unique pens and accessories ever since.

The Wren writing pen is small, but definitely mighty! The barrel is made from brass, machined using precision CNC lathes, and each pen is designed to last a lifetime. Brass is a great material for pens - it gives a hefty weight, which many people love, and a finish that ages and develops a patina, making your pen unique to you, and to the story of your use of it. The octagonal profile stops your pen from rolling off the desk. 

Each is fitted with a Japanese-made writing tip, which gives a 0.3mm to 0.5mm line width, depending on pressure, and can be replaced when it wears out, though it should last for a few months, depending on frequency of use.

Refill with fountain pen ink - use the fabric reservoir to soak it up. Spare refill reservoirs are available.
