TWSBI Eco Fountain Pen Fluorite Purple with Bronze

The Eco Fluorite Purple features a swirling, marbled purple cap and end section. It’s a soft lavender bleeding into deeper violet and rose, paired with a fully clear demonstrator barrel that puts all the inner workings on display. All that is complemented nicely with warm bronze-toned trim. We tend to enjoy the eco range (which is short for economical, but the way), but we have to admit we are rather taken with this one.

That clear barrel isn't just for show (though it does look lovely). It's there so you can watch the piston filler do its thing. TWSBI's built-in piston mechanism draws ink directly from a bottle, giving you a generous fill and letting you avoid the faffing about with cartridges. Pen fans do love a piston filler. Well, we certainly do, and if the TWSBI Eco range is a good place to start, if you've never used a piston filler before.

The steel nib is finished in polished bronze and engraved with TWSBI's logo, and is available in sizes from extra-fine to broad. An o-ring seal on the cap thread keeps things airtight, which is genuinely useful if your pen spends time in a bag. And the faceted cap means it won't roll off your desk. Small detail, but we appreciate the thought.

The pen can be fully disassembled for deep cleaning and servicing, with tools and instructions included. Although this is strictly for those who enjoy that sort of thing. No pressure.
